![]() ![]() Some have been utterly thrilled with the new Emanate system improving the quality of life for solo players, as well as the split-out leaderboards (anyone else trying to place with every Demon Hunter set? No?). Season 23 proved to be quite divisive with the follower-reworks-as-theme. Instead, the PTR showed Ethereal items are potent and well-thought-out, and they will be useful for both the normal gamer and the top players pushing for the top GR150 slot. I anticipated a lot of potential work cut out for the devs with the inclusion of the new-to- D3 Ethereals, the powerful class-specific items (a la Diablo 2) that are the foundation for Season 24’s theme. I confess I’m a little surprised at another 5-day turnaround between seasons. It is also helpful because it means you have two months to get yourself the creepy new Mummy pet before D2R comes out, and you forget what the sun looks like. It described the Ethereal Memory theme as inspired by the release of Diablo 2 Resurrected, which is an awesome homage to the re-releasing title. The Season 24 preview blog announced the start date of July 23, right in the first line. ![]() Now that we know for sure when Season 23 is ending - and isn’t following the longer Season schedule we’ve seen recently - we made some guesses about when Season 24 will start and were not far off the mark. ![]() So, of course, this means we’re all wondering - when does Season 24 start? July 23! Returning seasonal themes may mean returning rewards, with a chance to snag something missed in past seasons! Stay tuned, and we’ll update you as we know more.Diablo 3 Season 23 started on April 2, and we now know when it ends: July 18. It’s safe to anticipate another PTR, as Season 29 will have a unique theme that will potentially require testing. PTR dates have marked the initial “last call” for the current season in the past. This covers our presumed Season 28 end date and leads us to the Augestimate. The length estimate is new the start and end days have been fixed onto a Friday/Sunday cycle since Season 12. It became the longest season in D3‘s history with a run time of 25 weeks and 2 days, comparable to Diablo 2 Legacy‘s ladder seasons.īased on Season 27, let’s assume D3 maintenance mode seasons will kick off 26 weeks apart, with a Friday start and a Sunday end. The season started on Augand ended on February 19, 2023. Season 27’s length may have already set us up for success here. If we maintain a similar expectation for Diablo 3, we must look at the start and (projected) end dates for Season 28. Previously, we based future season start and end dates on past season lengths, but we’ve expected Diablo 3 to go into maintenance mode after the upcoming release of Diablo 4. So when does Season 29 start? Our guess is Friday, August 24, 2023. Specifically, we will have a unique (although “less rich than Season 28”) theme for Diablo 3 Season 29, and past themes will be revisited starting in Season 30. In a Diablo 4 PR event, the Blizzard team included a delightful tidbit regarding future Diablo 3 seasons. ![]()
